RESTYLANE, PERLANE AND RADIESSE
Modern technology has progressed to the point where one can get a lift and regain one’s youthful look through simple, safe and fast treatments without resorting to surgery. Lunch time procedures, like the injection of fillers, effectively improve deep wrinkles and sunken areas of the face, resulting in a fresher, smoother look.
Restylane and Perlane are composed of biocompatible hyaluronic acid in crystal-clear gel form. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance present in all living organisms which helps create volume, resulting in healthier, younger-looking skin.
Radiesse is made up of unique calcium-based microspheres that are suspended in a natural gel that is injected deep into the skin.
Where can Restylane, Perlane and Radiesse be used?
Restylane is generally used for wrinkle correction around the eye area and lips, and can also be used for lip enhancement.
Perlane, on the other hand, is used for shaping facial contours, such as the cheeks and chin, for correcting deep folds and for volume augmentation of the lips. Perlane is injected deeper than Restylane and the molecules are larger.
Radiesse reduces the appearance of wrinkles and skin folds around the mouth and nose, and fills certain areas, like the chin, as well as depressed scars. It can also be used for non-surgical chin augmentations and non-surgical nose lifts.
How long do Restylane, Perlane and Radiesse injections last?
While the results of Restylane and Perlane injections are long-lasting, they are not permanent. It will depend on the individual’s age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity.
In the case of wrinkles and facial contouring, most patients choose to have follow-up treatments 6 to 12 months after their initial treatment. In lip treatments, a follow-up is normally required after about 6 months. Restylane lasts about 6 to 8 months and Perlane, around 8 to 12 months. Radiesse is the most long-acting among the three and results may last up to 2 years.
