COSMELAN MASK APPLICATION
Cosmelan is a depigmentation treatment based on the inhibition of tyrosinase, a basic enzyme in the melanin formation process. A hydroquinone-free depigmenting mask is applied on the area of concern and is left for 6-10 hours.
Mild redness and flaking is expected a few days after the application of the Cosmelan mask. Significant lightening of the pigmentation is seen after a week and the results will be more evident in the following weeks. A take home cream, Cosmelan 2 is used on a daily basis to aid in the future lightening of the pigmentation.
