Mesotherapy:
a clinical cocktail for weight loss, face and neck rejuvenation,
and cellulite reduction
What is Mesotherapy?
Pioneered in the 1950’s by French physician
Michel Pistor, Mesotherapy is a safe, non-invasive procedure that
involves the use of microinjections to administer medications
into the mesoderm (middle layer of the skin). This treatment allows
the delivery of medicines to specific areas of the body. It is
the latest breakthrough for cellulite reduction, skin rejuvenation,
improving skin tone, decreasing fine lines, and even body-sculpting.
For the right candidate, Mesotherapy can be an excellent alternative
to tumescent liposuction.
What can Mesotherapy do?
Mesotherapy has a variety of applications such as
weight loss, cellulite reduction, face and neck rejuvenation,
and hair regrowth. Each treatment is patient-specific and the
injections make use of customized mixtures of vitamins, amino
acids and other medications suited to the patient’s needs.
Unlike other medical treatments, Mesotherapy is
administered directly to the problem area, thereby limiting side-effects
and reducing the possibilty of drug interactions. It allows for
a substantial reduction in the amount of medicine utilized for
each treatment.
What kinds of Mesotherapy are available? What can I expect during
treatment? And when will I see results?
At the Belo Medical Group, we offer many types of
Mesotherapy. These are:
• Mesolift: A cocktail
of amino acids and multi-vitamins is delivered into the face
and neck through microinjections, using the nappage or scratch
methods. Treatments are spaced 1-2 weeks apart for 4-6 sessions
and monthly maintenance may be done.
• Mesolipo: This combines
the French and Brazilian methods and makes use of a combination
of medicines that dissolves fat and improves skin tone. The
medicines are injected into the fat layer every 2 weeks for
a minimum of 4 sessions. Swelling and tenderness on the treated
sites are expected after each session and may last for a couple
of days. The discomfort is tolerable but for those who have
a low pain threshold, a mild pain reliever may be taken. For
better results, Lipolite can be done simultaneously with Mesolipo.
• Mesocellulite: An effective
way of getting rid of cellulite making use of multivitamins
and medicines that help break hardened fat. Multiple sessions
are required and done every 2 weeks. For optimum results, Mesocellulite
can be combined with Lipolite treatments.
• Mesoscalp: A combination
of multivitamins, hormones, and minerals is injected into the
scalp to stimulate improved hair growth. This results in healthier-looking
hair and scalp. Treatment is done weekly and 15-20 sessions
may be necessary. Mesoscalp is helpful in cases of falling hair,
thinning hair and spot baldness (Alopecia areata).
• Meso for Oily Skin: A
combination of minerals and medicines to help control oily skin
is delivered into the face through microinjection using the
nappage or scratch techniques. Treatment is usually administered
weekly for about 6 sessions and can be done together with facial
treatments.
• Mesowhite: Whitening
solutions and vitamins are injected into dark problematic areas,
like the armpits and facial hyperpigmentation. These medicines
help break the pigments, allowing the area to lighten in color.
Again, mutiple sessions are required and are spaced 1-2 weeks
apart. Topical whitening medications can still be applied to
maximize results.
