How to Get Rid of Your Acne Scars, For Good

By Ysabel Vitangcol on July 27, 2020

So you’ve finally cleared your acne. Your skin texture is flattening out, you’re no longer getting pus-filled bumps, and the zit-related redness has bid you sayonara. But what are those brown spots that have been left behind? Or worse…why does it look like your skin’s been poked by an ice pick? Acne scars are the very real damage that years or even months of acne can leave behind. But you don’t have to live with the memory of your breakouts any longer. Acne is a fundamental skin issue, for which Belo has created numerous solutions—not only for the pimples themselves, but also for the scars that remain. Let us count the ways…

Fraxel Dual

Fraxel is a fractional resurfacing laser that our doctors use to improve the texture of atrophic scars, like acne and chickenpox scars. Microscopic columns are created deep into the skin, which will cause the skin to begin collagen remodeling. This also encourages the growth of healthy, new skin cells. Your acne scars will look less and less visible with every session.

Skin Genius

It’s not just a facial sculpting treatment! Because the tip of the Skin Genius wand is equipped with 49 microneedles, its unique RF delivery system allows for the production of collagen as your skin heals from the microneedling. That’s why Dr. Belo recommends it for those who want to erase acne scars and minimize the appearance of pores (and getting a slimmer, more lifted face while they’re at it).

Fractional CO2

This is for patients with severe acne scars, especially those that have formed ice pick scars or “craters” on the skin. Like Fraxel, Fractional CO2 is also a fractional resurfacing laser, but with higher energy and better depth of penetration. Because it’s so intensive, you’ll only need a few sessions, and the intervals between sessions are much longer.

Time Capsule

The Time Capsule treatment combines several procedures to help improve skin texture and elasticity. Air dissection and fractional resurfacing allow the skin to produce collagen. This is followed by the application of a Growth Factor or Stem Factor serum to enhance skin renewal. Finally, Inara light therapy is done to speed up healing. No wonder it’s called Time Capsule—this treatment will bring you back to you, pre-acne.

Aurora Photofacial

The Aurora Photofacial combines the benefits of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and RF energy to fade unwanted lesions and diminish the appearance of scars. After a 30-minute session, you’ll immediately notice that your skin feels smoother! For those who have struggled with chest acne that has left unsightly marks, the Aurora Photofacial can also be done on that area.

Air Dissector

Ever heard of being injected with air? Yes, we promise it’s a thing. The Air Dissector clears acne marks by freeing up the fibrosis of scars under the skin via air injection. During the procedure, a very small amount of air is injected on the intradermal region to lift the scars. Over time, these scars will lighten until they are barely noticeable.

These are just some of the treatments we have to help you say goodbye to your acne scars forever. To find the one that’s right for you, one of our Belo MDs will have to examine your scars to determine their type and degree of severity. You can book a virtual consultation (even with Dr. Belo herself!) at The Belo Shop, or call 8819-BELO to schedule a face-to-face convo with our docs. One step closer to getting the skin you’ve always wanted!
