Fillers

As early as age 25, our body’s production of collagen and elastin begins to decline by as much as 2% every year. By the time we reach our early 30s, early signs of aging inevitably creep up and start to become noticeable.

These dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to fill lines, replace lost volume, and lift sagging skin. They are typically made up of hyaluronic acid, a natural moisture-binding component of your skin. Hyaluronic acid fillers treatment provides a minimally invasive anti aging treatment to rejuvenate and enhance facial contours, ensuring a plump, hydrated, and young-looking complexion.

Dermal fillers may be used in different parts of the face: around the eyes, cheeks, mouth, jawline, as well as directly into lip tissue. They may also be used for non-surgical nose lifts to improve shape and definition without surgery.

  • How do I know if I am a good candidate for dermal fillers?
You may be a good candidate for dermal fillers if you want to address volume loss, wrinkles, fine lines, or enhance specific facial contours such as the cheeks, lips, or jawline. There is no specific age requirement for this treatment, but you must undergo an evaluation with a Belo doctor. During your consultation, your doctor will assess your skin condition, review your goals, and determine if hyaluronic acid fillers are the right treatment for you.
  • How do I know if I am a good candidate for dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are suitable for individuals looking to address volume loss, wrinkles, or specific facial contours. There is no specific age requirement, but it’s essential to be evaluated by a Belo doctor. They will assess your skin condition, discuss your aesthetic goals, and determine if fillers are the right option for you.
  • What areas can dermal fillers treat?
Dermal fillers can be used to treat various areas to enhance your appearance, including:
    • Cheeks
    • Lips
    • Nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the mouth)
    • Marionette lines (lines from the mouth to the chin)
    • Under-eye hollows
    • Jawline
  • Is the procedure painful?
Pain tolerance varies from person to person. To minimize discomfort, some patients opt for topical anesthesia, which is applied about 30-40 minutes before the procedure. Most patients experience only mild discomfort, and there is typically minimal downtime following the treatment.
  • How long do dermal fillers last?
Results appear immediately and continue to settle and improve over 2 to 4 weeks. Depending on the type of filler and the area treated, results can last 9 to 18 months. Your Belo doctor will recommend the most suitable filler type and provide guidance on how long your results may last.
  • What is the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?
While both Botox and dermal fillers use needles, they serve different purposes. Fillers are used to add volume, address static wrinkles (lines that are visible when the face is at rest), and enhance contours. Botox, on the other hand, is used to relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles (lines that appear when you make facial expressions, such as frowning or smiling). Many patients combine both treatments for a more complete anti aging solution.
  • Can dermal fillers be reversed if needed?
Yes, most dermal fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with the results or experience complications. This allows for adjustments or corrections to ensure you achieve the desired outcome.
