Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical procedure to treat unsightly veins. A “sclerosing agent,” which works to shrink veins, is injected into the problem area during the session. It can cause 80 to 90 percent of targeted veins to disappear permanently. Patients may experience discomfort during the injection, but the sensation is brief and tolerable.
What it targets:
Visible veins on the face and legs (spider veins and varicose veins)
Resuming normal activities after the treatment is encouraged to increase blood flow, but strenuous legwork should be avoided for at least three days. Vascular stockings must be worn for three to four days to support the treated area.
